Doing a two’fer today, ’cause Nirvana
My girl, my girl, don’t lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through
My girl, my girl, where will you go
I’m going where the cold wind blows
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through
Her husband, was a hard working man
Just about a mile from here
His head was found in a driving wheel
But his body never was found
My girl, my girl, don’t lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through
My girl, my girl, where will you go
I’m going where the cold wind blows
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through
My girl, my girl, don’t lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through
My girl, my girl, where will you go
I’m going where the cold wind blows
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don’t ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through
Love Nirvana, and their cover version of In the Pines. Did you know its history? It’s pretty fascinating. For most of my life I thought it was their original, but it’s not. I like the Lead Belly version… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Pines

Yes I knew it had a crazy history and the marriage of some Appalachian folk songs. Whomever wrote it, it’s one of my all-time favs. Nirvana and Lead Belly are the two best IMO. Loretta Lynn did a pretty good version too

And even so, it seems like it was meant for Kurt 😉
